DALI'S ICONIC ILLUSTRATIONS FOR LEWIS CARROLL'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND - ONE OF ONLY 2500 EXAMPLES, HERE SIGNED BY SALVADOR DALI TO THE TITLE PAGE. RARE.

The rare complete set of one etching in colours and 12 heliogravures with woodcut remarque on Mandeure paper, all loose as issued, with title page, text and justification, signed in pencil on the title page in truly fine condition.

An exceptional example - these always cause a stir when they arrive on the market!

To have a complete set with the original brown silk chemise and the leather-backed case is incredibly rare as most of the loose illustrations have been framed by collectors over the years.

“Dalí’s images have become icons of the fantastic, signposts (not maps) that point the way inward to that realm” (Clute & Grant, 246). This magnificent production, printed on Mandeure paper, contains an original three-color etching as a frontispiece and 12 striking full-page color photogravures (heliogravures) after Dali’s original gouache paintings (Michler & Löpsinger).

Signed limited edition (first edition thus). Folio. Size: 18 ½ x 13 x 2 ¾ in. (470 x 330 x 70 mm.) Signed in pencil on the title page by Salvador Dali. With the original brown silk chemise with Dali written in gilt  and the original leather-backed case. A fine example

It was a real pleasure to work with Mr Oliver Bayliss, even from abroad, everything went so smoothly. You can consign your valuable books with confidence !
Oliver sold a book for me recently and the process couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Bayliss rare books are great to deal with and thanks to Oliver’s experience and salesmanship I was very happy with the final deal.
Highly professional service, extremely knowledgeable and easy to deal with, he's a collector first and foremost and you can see he cares.
Repeat customer. I've bought 4 books now from Oliver. Extremely knowledgeable in his field, he always has really interesting pieces in stock. He has hand delivered 2 of the books I have bought and sent the other 2 out by post. Would highly recommend.
