Francis Bacon | 1985, Tate Gallery Exhibition Catalogue, signed by Bacon

£2,000.00 GBP

A rare and striking signed copy of the catalogue for Francis Bacon’s 1985 Tate Gallery exhibition. Signed in his bold, energetic hand, this is a remarkable example of Bacon’s elusive autograph—he was never one to sign freely, making such pieces exceptionally scarce. His signature carries the same raw intensity that defines his work, making this a compelling artifact for collectors of modern art. One of very few Tate catalogues to be found signed.

Condition:

First edition, first printing. Large quarto in illustrated stiff card covers. A scarce and exceptionally well-preserved copy, featuring over 100 finely printed color illustrations, including approximately 110 full-page plates and 21 fold-out leaves showcasing Bacon’s triptychs. Also includes an extensive bibliography. Loosely inserted is a printed note listing the exhibition sponsors.

A rare opportunity to own a signed piece from one of the 20th century’s most influential painters.

Repeat customer. I've bought 4 books now from Oliver. Extremely knowledgeable in his field, he always has really interesting pieces in stock. He has hand delivered 2 of the books I have bought and sent the other 2 out by post. Would highly recommend.
