We are thrilled to announce that Bayliss Rare Books and our recently featured Bram Stoker letter have been covered in The Telegraph. The article explores a playful and rare handwritten note sent by Stoker just weeks after the publication of Dracula in May 1897, selling through our gallery for £15,000

Stoker’s letter is addressed to an unidentified "Mr Williams." In it, he cheekily writes:

“I send you Dracula & have honoured myself by writing your name in it … Lord forgive me. I am quite shameless.”

This informal and revealing correspondence diverges sharply from the author’s typically formal letters. It captures a rare moment of levity and confidence—when Stoker’s gothic creation was freshly launched into the world.
