We are thrilled to share that Bayliss Rare Books and our recently sold Bram Stoker letter were spotlighted in The Guardian. This fascinating feature explores a rare and candid note penned by Stoker just weeks after the publication of Dracula in 1897.

Addressed to an unidentified “Williams,” the letter includes the unforgettable line:

“I send you Dracula & have honoured myself by writing your name in it … Lord forgive me. I am quite shameless. Yours ever, Bram Stoker.”

Bayliss Rare Books’ founder, Oliver Bayliss, describes the letter as personal, informal, and disarmingly revealing—quite unlike Stoker’s typically reserved correspondence. This makes it one of the earliest and most candid authorial commentaries on Dracula available to collectors today.

The article highlights the letter’s rarity—Stoker references to Dracula by name are extraordinarily uncommon, making this piece truly unique in his surviving correspondence.
