Le Lotus Bleu | 1946, first colour edition.

£4,500.00 GBP

The first colour edition of Le Lotus Bleu. An extremely rare edition and the fifith title in the Tintin series. A brilliant example.

Le Lotus Bleu was the most important album Hergé had created up to this point, and it remains one of the most important albums throughout the Tintin series. With this album Hergé's graphical development reaches its first peak, turning Tintin into the Tintin we now know.

First colour edition, series B with all requisite points: Dark blue endpapers, title in blue on title page, red spine. A near-fne example with minor rubbing to the boards and minor discolouration to the pages which is par for the course with the original Tintin editions given the paper stock used by the publishers. A really smashing example. Proud to have this in stock.
